About
Flushnik is a collective of artists and purveyors of all the arts, including music, film, comedic, culinary, and martial.
It was founded in 2007 by a couple of college friends (music majors) from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin, who just wanted to be roommates and have a place to practice their music. They began to include others and more and more people took an appreciation to their space. As the collective expanded, it eventually outgrew one apartment and took over the entire first floor of the building.
In 2008, they gave it a name and designated one of the big rooms strictly as a rehearsal and performance space. In 2009, they switched which room that was, due to noise complaints.
Now, Flushnik is buzzing with activity and acts as a hotbed of creative thought and expression. We have housed all kinds of events: electronic music shows, poetry readings, recitals, film and photo shoots, bike workshops, theatre work premieres, underground rap battles, and wedding receptions.
It is the ideal D-I-Y event space out of our own home! And you are welcome to take part!
